The Mont Saint Michel

Il surgit des sables de sa vaste baie, telle une montagne sacrée tendue vers le ciel... Sanctuaire, lieu de pèlerinage, point de ralliement des touristes, le Mont-Saint-Michel subjugue et envoûte depuis la nuit des temps. Au 6e siècle, un ermite s’y installe. Suivront les moines bénédictins de l’abbaye, les commerçants du vieux village, les bâtisseurs de la Merveille... jusqu’aux les visiteurs d’aujourd’hui. A l’heure où un barrage flambant neuf s’apprête à lui redonner son caractère insulaire, balade sur et autour du "Mont". Une flânerie en kayak du côté de Tombelaine, une pêche aux crevettes à l’aube, les laudes en compagnie des moines et moniales de l’abbaye, une traversée de la baie en n’évitant surtout pas les sables mouvants... Quoi d’autre? Les batteurs d’omelette de la Mère Poulard. Les prés salés qui broutent la salicorne des prairies inondées. Les polders, aux digues rectilignes, qui ceinturent le sud de la baie. Et l’archange Saint-Michel, bien sûr, tout enveloppé d’or, qui toise la baie du haut de sa flèche...Vincent Noyoux
